Mobile Desalination Units: Works Ongoing, Plan B for Water Supply

Works are continuing at an intensive pace for the installation of mobile desalination units in Cyprus. Their operation has been extended until the end of July 2025.
In parallel, the Ministry of Agriculture has developed a Plan B, activating additional boreholes in the Kourris Delta and Germasogeia, to cover any potential gap in the water supply.
Problems with water cuts due to faults are already occurring in various areas, including the provinces of Larnaca, Nicosia, Famagusta, Paphos and the coastal area of Limassol.
The Ministry of Agriculture expects projects worth €1.2 billion over the next five years to address the water problem.
