Yellow Alert for Storms in Cyprus – Weather Forecast Until Saturday

Cyprus is expected to bid farewell to 2025 with a yellow alert for strong storms along the coast, according to the Meteorological Service. An improvement in the weather is expected on New Year's Day, with temperatures remaining at normal levels for the season.
Meteorological officer Andreas Chatzigeorgiou stated that until the morning of December 30th, the weather will be mainly clear, but gradually clouds will increase. Isolated storms are expected in the evening, mainly from the west, which will extend across the island after midnight. The phenomenon will continue until the afternoon of December 31st.
On New Year's Day, some phenomena will occur mainly in the west, which will subside. The weather until Sunday will be mainly clear. In the mountains, sleet or snow is expected on Tuesday evening and Wednesday. Hail is possible during the storms.
Winds on Tuesday will blow mainly from the southwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. On Tuesday evening, they will strengthen in the southern and southeastern coasts, reaching 5 to 6 Beaufort on Wednesday. A change in the wind circulation is expected on Thursday.
The temperature until Saturday will be 14 to 15 degrees Celsius, with a possible temporary drop on Friday. On the coasts, the temperature will be 15 to 16 degrees Celsius, normal temperatures for the season. At night, the temperature will drop to 4 degrees Celsius inland, 6 degrees on the coasts, and zero in the higher mountains.
