Forklift Falls into Corfu Port, Hits Cruise Ship

An accident occurred in the port of Corfu when a forklift fell into the sea at the cruise ship docking area.
Port Authority officials rushed to the scene and located the 59-year-old operator. The operator reported that the machine started moving on its own and fell into the water.
During the fall, the forklift touched the right stern of a cruise ship, causing minor surface damage. Authorities assured that the damage does not affect the safety of the ship.
The machine was lifted using a private crane and the assistance of a diver. The Central Port Authority of Corfu is investigating the case. No marine pollution was caused.
