Road closures due to bad weather in mountainous areas

Severe weather conditions have caused problems on the road network in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas. Several roads have been closed or are dangerous due to landslides and heavy rainfall.

According to a police announcement, the Vavatsinia – Agion Vavatsinias road is closed due to landslides. Also, the Spilia – Saranti road remains closed, while the Spilia – Kyperounta road is dangerous.

In addition, the Pedoula – Prodromos road is dangerous due to landslides and heavy rainfall. There is dense fog in the area.

All roads to Troodos (Platron – Troodous, Karvouna – Troodous and Prodromou – Troodous) are open only to vehicles with anti-skid chains or 4x4. It is snowing and foggy in the area.

Police urge drivers to be careful due to falling rocks and soil on the road, to keep a safe distance and to have their headlights on.
