Arminou Community Leader Requests Fire Truck for a Year

The community leader of Arminou, Marios Giannaki, is appealing for the allocation of a fire truck to the area. In statements to ΚΥΠΕ, Mr. Giannaki emphasized that Arminou is located on the edge of the forest and has been requesting the supply of a fire truck for a year, without response.

Regarding complaints about a fire caused by an illegal establishment used as a blacksmith shop, Mr. Giannaki stated that recommendations were made to the owner to clean the area and take fire safety measures. In case of non-compliance, he will face the community authority. Mr. Giannaki has spoken with the owner several times since March and a written letter will be sent.

Asked about the legality of the blacksmith shop, Mr. Giannaki said that the matter was reported to the Police and the Department of Forests.
