Psathi Community Leader: "There is nothing left to burn"

The community leader of the fire-stricken village of Psathi in the Paphos district, Michalis Kyriakou, stated to Omegalive that the fire is essentially extinguished, as "there is nothing left to burn." Small pockets are being monitored by the fire department.
Mr. Kyriakou mentioned that "the mistake was yesterday" with the delayed arrival of aerial means, describing the situation as "a fire tornado."
He also praised the efforts of the firefighters and Civil Defense, which transported residents to hotels, following instructions from President Christodoulides.
Today, sections of the Paphos District Administration are arriving to record the damages. The President assured that the damages will be covered by the state.
The community leader described Psathi as a small, green village now surrounded by a completely black landscape.
