Tala Community: Difficulties in Creating Firebreaks

The President of the KS Tala, Ioannis Konnikos, referred to the difficulties faced by the Community Council in creating firebreaks. He responded to criticism from residents of the Melissovounou area after Sunday's fire, which spread to the Tsada and Koili areas.

Mr. Konnikos emphasized that it is difficult for the Community Council to create firebreaks on its own, but assured that he would take immediate care of cleaning all the plots of the community. He pointed out the large number of plots and the difficulties in locating the owners in some cases.

He also referred to the difficult terrain in some places, which prevents the creation of firebreaks. Finally, he mentioned that Sunday's fire was limited to Prophet Elias, preventing its spread to Melissovouno.
