Electronic Traffic Tickets Issued via AI and Bus Cameras Begin

The issuance of the first 130 administrative fines, recorded by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and bus cameras in Attica, has begun. Violations are recorded and sent electronically to citizens via gov.gr.
AI cameras, installed at eight high-risk locations, record violations such as running red lights, speeding, driving in bus lanes, not wearing seatbelts/helmets, and using mobile phones while driving. Bus cameras monitor illegal parking and movement in bus lanes.
Most of the first 130 tickets relate to running red lights and not wearing helmets. In 2026, 1,000 cameras are expected to be installed in Attica, Thessaloniki, and Crete, and 300 mobile cameras by 2027.
The Unified Electronic System for Recording and Managing Violations (E.H.S.) will digitally manage violations, with automatic recording, electronic ticket issuance, and fine payment capabilities.
