Solidarity for Fire Victims in Limassol

In the wake of the devastating fires in the Limassol mountainous region, a wave of solidarity is emerging for the victims. Beyond the collection of food and essential supplies, citizens are offering homes and properties for accommodation.
Through social media, citizens are offering free houses, holiday homes, and lodgings for as long as needed. Volunteers are declaring their readiness to help with tools and equipment in the damaged houses. A building technician has offered to help with work free of charge.
One citizen is offering trees of his own production and voluntary work for the restoration of the burnt areas. At the same time, veterinary clinics and animal welfare organizations are offering care to the animals in the fire-stricken areas.
The Pancyprian Coordinating Council of Volunteerism (PCCE) warns about illegal fundraisers and calls on citizens to be careful, as only the fundraisers announced by the PCCE and the General Accounting Office of the Republic are legal.
