Cyprus: Motorcycle Protective Gear Grant Scheme Concludes

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has announced the completion of the third phase of the Grant Scheme for the Purchase of Protective Equipment for Motorcyclists. The scheme ran for three phases (2022-2025) with a total budget of €1,050,000.

In the third phase, 1,440 applications were submitted, of which 102 concerned 'Low Power' motorcycles and 1,338 'High Power' motorcycles. Of these, 650 applications were ultimately granted, with 607 concerning 'High Power' motorcycles and 43 'Low Power' motorcycles.

The total amount to be paid out is €323,000.00, corresponding to 92% of the available budget. The disbursement of grants is expected to be completed by the end of August 2025.

The Ministry thanked citizens for their participation in the effort to improve road safety.
