Larnaca: 11 of 19 Lifeguard Towers Staffed

In Larnaca, 11 of the 19 lifeguard towers are staffed, according to Savvas Ioannou, Administrative Officer at the Larnaca District Administration.

Five recruitment processes have taken place, with four people expected to staff a new tower in front of the Lenios Hotel.

Mr. Ioannou emphasized the stricter recruitment criteria and the need for experienced lifeguards. The salaries are good, and candidates must have training and medals from lifeguard clubs.

Staffed towers are located on the beaches of KOT, Oroklini Kiosk, Chrysopsaro, Lenios beach, Finikoudes, Kastela, and Mackenzie.

Mr. Ioannou urged beachgoers, especially the elderly and those with health problems, to be careful and avoid sunstroke.
