The Larnaca City and District Development Committee has expressed discontent over delays in the development of the city's port and marina. In a meeting yesterday, the Committee demanded clear timelines within 15 days, warning of potential mobilizations.

The Committee expressed "strong dissatisfaction with the delays observed both in the delivery of the study by the Superfund and foreign experts, and in the determination of clear timelines for the next substantive steps." It also expressed regret for the delays in the announcement of the Architectural Competition.

Serious concern also prevails regarding the delay in the examination of the project revival proposal by shareholders of the Kition Consortium by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.

The Committee unanimously decided to examine all parameters of the revival proposal within 15 days, as well as the Ministry's position. It also requests specific timelines for the completion of the Superfund study and the public consultation.

A working group was created to monitor the implementation of the project. The Committee awaits the response of the Minister of Transport to set the next meeting within 15 days. In case of non-response, it warns of dynamic mobilizations.
