Larnaca: Police & Authorities Conduct Checks – Complaints & Arrests

An extensive inspection operation was carried out today in Larnaca by the Police, in cooperation with local Authorities and various Services, in order to ensure public order and legality.

During the operation, which started at 9:00 and ended at 14:00, 13 establishments were inspected and:

• One complaint was filed for operating an establishment without a license.
• Six complaints were filed for selling alcoholic beverages without a license.
• Seven complaints were filed for not using an electronic money collection machine.
• Five complaints were filed for undeclared work.
• Four recommendations/observations from the Department of Electromechanical Services.
• Eight recommendations/observations from the Fire Service.
• Four recommendations/observations from the Larnaca District Self-Government Organization.
• One administrative fine from the Municipality of Larnaca.

42 people were checked, resulting in one arrest for illegal employment and one for illegal stay in the Republic. In addition, 18 traffic violations were recorded and one vehicle was detained.

The checks will continue daily.
