Larnaca: Deadline for plot cleaning until August 18

The Municipality of Larnaca has given residents a deadline until August 18 to clean their plots, properties, and open spaces.

In its announcement, the Municipality calls on residents to proceed with cleaning and removing all unwanted items, debris, garbage, wild vegetation, and pruning to licensed waste management units.

The placement of unwanted items and the presence of wild vegetation create breeding grounds for rodents and insects, a situation harmful to health.

The Municipality of Larnaca will take legal action against offenders and will proceed with its own crews to clean and remove unwanted items, recovering the costs as a civil debt.

If the cleaning by the owner is deemed unsatisfactory, the Municipality's crew will fully clean the plot and charge the owner the related costs. The cleaning responsibility rests with both the owner and the tenant.

Those who keep machinery or other large objects in the mentioned areas are asked to move them for better cleaning purposes. The Municipality will not bear any responsibility for any loss or damage.
