Larnaca: Fatal Road Accident on Rizoelia Highway – One Dead

80-year-old **Anastasios Michael** died tragically in a road accident in Larnaca. The incident occurred when the vehicle driven by the unfortunate man entered the opposite lane of traffic on the Rizoelia - Kalou Choriou highway and collided head-on with a taxi driven by a 55-year-old Greek national.

According to the Press Officer of the Larnaca Police Department, Spyros Chrysostomou, the collision occurred around 11:10 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, near the exit to Hellas Avenue. Anastasios Michael, a resident of Aradippou, was trapped in his vehicle and the Fire Service had to intervene to free him. He was taken to Larnaca General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 55-year-old taxi driver was injured and is being treated in the hospital. He underwent an alcohol test with a zero reading. The Larnaca Traffic Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
