Larnaca: No Buses Amidst Tourist Season – Meeting with Panayiotou

The inconvenience continues in Larnaca due to the strike by bus drivers of Larnaca Public Transport, which began on July 30. The drivers rejected the mediation proposal of the Ministry of Labor and decided to continue the strike.

The Minister of Labor, Yiannis Panayiotou, has called a meeting with representatives of the unions and workers to find a solution. The workers accuse the company of violating their collective agreement, particularly regarding working hours.

The rejected proposal provided for compensation for employment beyond 7 hours and 36 minutes per day, with a working framework not exceeding 9 hours and a break of up to 60 minutes.
