Limassol and Paphos Officially Kick Off Carnival Celebrations

Limassol and Paphos are officially entering the carnival spirit with events starting today, Tsiknopempti (Smoky Thursday). The Municipality of Limassol promises an 11-day celebration filled with fun, culminating in the grand carnival parade on Sunday, February 22nd.
Events in Limassol begin with the traditional "First Foukou" and continue with music and treats. The "Kantadoroi Lemesou" group will perform at Saripolou Square. The coronation of the "Queen of Passion and Madness," embodied by Amaryllis Kyriakou, will take place in Grigori Afxentiou Square, followed by a carnival party.
In Paphos, the carnival 2026 celebrations also begin today, with the entrance of the "King of the Enchanted Forest" on Griva Digeni Avenue. A feast will follow at Hani of Ibrahim. The program also includes a treasure hunt, a masked party, and a grand carnival parade.
