The Municipality of Limassol has announced a series of projects and priorities for the city's future, focusing on upgrading the urban environment, cleanliness, and addressing traffic problems.

According to the Mayor of Limassol, the first year of his term focused on internal organization and modernization of structures. Priority was given to the beautification of the city, with an increased budget for cleanliness, improvement of the road network, and upgrading the coastal front.

The Municipal Council unanimously approved the promotion of three large-scale projects: the redevelopment of Anexartisias Street, the creation of two 25 km green routes, and the creation of 25 new parks. In addition, tenders were announced for student residences and a Cultural Center.

President Nikos Christodoulides' announcements for projects worth €660 million in the Limassol district include the construction of the Northern Bypass, the redevelopment of Aktaia Odos and Agias Fylaxeos Avenue, as well as the upgrading of the Archaeological Museum and the creation of a Metropolitan Park.

Traffic remains a major problem, with proposed solutions such as the Northern Bypass, the redevelopment of Agias Fylaxeos Avenue, and the implementation of SUMP provisions.

Limassol is competing for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030.
