Limassol: Northern Bypass Priority β Armeftis-Vafiadis Meeting
A working meeting was held between the Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafiadis, and the Mayor of Limassol, Giannis Armeftis, focusing on the city's traffic problem.
According to statements by Mr. Armeftis to CYBC, the northern bypass is a priority, specifically the section of Evagoras Lanitis Avenue that connects Agia Fyla with the Limassol β Platres road.
The Municipality of Limassol anticipates the promotion of the project's tender within 2026, with work commencing in 2027.
The meeting also discussed the finalization of the City Center Area Plan, the regulation of Aktaia Odos, as well as short-term implementation projects, such as the connection of various roads and the installation of smart lights.
In addition, issues related to the promotion of the SUMP, the architectural competition for the reconstruction of Aktaia Odos, and the upgrade of the archaeological museum were raised.
