Letymbiotis: Investigation into Services' Response to Fire

Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis stated that an evaluation will be conducted on the operation of the responsible services in dealing with the recent fire, following the submission of relevant reports.

Specifically, the way the services operated is being examined, particularly in relation to the protection of human life and evacuation procedures. Mr. Letymbiotis emphasized that, despite the unprecedented conditions of the fire, gaps and weaknesses in the planning will be highlighted in order to implement improvements.

Regarding the absence of the Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture, who has a coordinating role, he assured that the state mechanism operates independently of one person and that the "Pyrsos" plan was activated, with the Chief Fire Officer of the Fire Service as coordinator.
