The Nicosia District Court has issued an order to cease nuisance and prohibit the use of an apartment building within the city walls due to the poor living conditions of migrants. The Municipality of Nicosia filed a lawsuit following complaints from residents and on-site investigations.

According to the court's decision, the building is a health hazard, a source of pollution, and potentially dangerous for causing a fire. It was found that 28 foreign men reside in 12 apartments, with some living in rooms without windows or on the roof, in a makeshift building with an asbestos roof.

Municipal officials recorded dilapidated stairs, broken windows, mold, humidity, garbage, rodents, insects, and foul odor. The owners' defense cited the living conditions of the tenants in their countries of origin, but the Court rejected their objections.
