Livadia: Urgent Support Needed for Livestock Farmers Due to Foot-and-Mouth Disease

The Deputy Mayor of Livadia, Marios Armenis, has called for immediate support for livestock farmers affected by foot-and-mouth disease. He emphasized the need for state aid, especially for those losing their livestock.

Mr. Armenis stated that the Municipality of Livadia is providing support with equipment and measures, such as road closures, sprayers, and lighting. The municipal authorities are in contact with the livestock farmers and are cooperating with the Mental Health Services of OKYpY for their psychological support.

He also stressed the need for the immediate announcement of economic support measures by the state to avoid the financial uncertainty of livestock farmers.

The Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras, stated that information on foot-and-mouth disease should be provided by the competent state services, while the Municipality of Larnaca is on standby to provide assistance.
