Maria Panagiotou: Comments on farm sanctification in Troulloi

Police investigation revealed that the priests of the Holy Metropolis of GOC Kitiou, who performed a sanctification at a livestock unit in the Kelion-Troulloi area, had followed the necessary health protocols. The purpose of the sanctification was to eliminate foot-and-mouth disease.

The Minister of Agriculture, Maria Panagiotou, appearing on the Alpha Enimerosi show, stated that the priests "had been sprayed and transported" to the unit, which is located outside the infected area in the Larnaca district.

Ms. Panagiotou added that the priests did not visit other livestock units, which is prohibited. The police have spoken with them, and it is hoped that the incident will not be repeated.
