Measures for the Tourism Recovery of Omodos and Limassol Mountain Region

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, announced measures for the rapid recovery of tourism activity in Omodos and the Limassol mountain region, areas affected by the recent July fire.

Following a meeting with community leaders and business owners, Mr. Koumis emphasized the need to support local businesses, including recreation centers and traditional product shops. He also recalled the Council of Ministers' decision on July 30th for a package of measures, including plans to cover lost revenue.

The measures include compensations until the end of 2025 and a domestic tourism plan from January 1, 2026. Promotion of the areas through journalist visits is also planned. The Community Leader of Omodos, Evgenios Michael, called on citizens to support the Limassol mountain region.
