Measures Taken at Elderly Homes Due to Heatwave

Coordination of actions to protect the elderly in Elderly Homes due to high temperatures in Cyprus has been agreed between the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare and the Association of Private Nursing Homes.

The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Marilena Evaggelou, and the President of the Association, Loizos Grigoriadis, agreed on the involvement of the Association, through KEBE, in informing about compliance with the measures. Each Home must have air conditioning and provide plenty of fluids to the residents.

The Social Welfare Services (ΥΚΕ) are conducting intensive inspections of Elderly Homes during the summer months.
