Agios Nikolaos Monastery: Nuns Stay Despite Akrotiri Base Concerns

Despite recent unrest in the Akrotiri area following a drone attack on the military base, the nuns of Agios Nikolaos Monastery remain at the monastery. Abbess, Sister Christofora, and nun Rafaella, state that they are not afraid, despite the monastery's proximity to the base.

The nuns reported that they left for a few hours, following pressure from relatives, but returned immediately. "We are close to the Saint and have faith," said nun Rafaella.

The presence of the Police and the support from local authorities, such as the mayor and deputy mayor, are important for the nuns. Despite visitor concerns, the nuns remain steadfast in their decision to stay at the monastery.
