Heatwave Alert Issued for Cyprus – Temperatures Up to 41 Degrees

Cyprus is facing a new heatwave as summer nears its end. The Meteorological Service has issued a yellow warning as temperatures are expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius in inland areas.

The warning is in effect from 12:00 to 17:00 on Friday. In the higher mountainous regions, the temperature will reach 32 degrees Celsius.

Detailed weather forecast: Seasonal low pressure affects the area. Tonight the weather will be mainly clear. During the early morning hours, thin fog and low cloud cover may form mainly on the southern and eastern coasts. The winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly and locally variable, light, 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to slightly rough.

The weather will remain mainly clear on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The temperature will not change significantly on Saturday, while a gradual drop is expected from Sunday to fluctuate until Monday near the average climatological values.
