New Bus Fares for Students (2025-2027)

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works (ΥΜΕΕ) announces new bus fares for students, effective from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2027.

Monthly student fare: €5 (with a state subsidy of €17).

Annual student fare: €30 (with a state subsidy of €190).

A personalized 'Motion' card is required for the annual ticket. A certificate of attendance or student ID is required.

Exempt from fares: Children from large and five-member families attending public secondary and technical education (large family ID or five-member family certificate required).

Minor children under the care of Social Welfare Services (ΥΚΕ): €5 monthly / €30 annual (paid by ΥΚΕ, subsidized by ΥΜΕΕ). Certificate from ΥΚΕ required.

Impoverished students and children of Minimum Guaranteed Income (ΕΕΕ) recipients: zero fare.

Free transport: Until September 12, 2025.

Issuance of 'Motion' cards begins on September 1, 2025. From September 13, 2025, a valid fare is required.
