A new case of foot-and-mouth disease has been detected in a goat and sheep unit in Dromolaxia, within the infected zone. The Veterinary Services have begun the process of assessing the animals, with the culling of the unit (approximately 85 goats and sheep) to follow.

In parallel, the vaccination of pigs has started, prioritizing pig farms within the infected areas. The second vaccination of goats, sheep, and cattle continues, with vaccination coverage reaching 52% of the cattle population and 26.5% of the total goat and sheep population so far.

Epidemiological investigations and sampling have been completed in the Paphos district, with negative results. Sampling continues in the remaining districts. Within the 3 and 10 kilometer zones in Larnaca and Nicosia, the detection of additional infected units remains likely.
