New Hospital for Polis Chrysochous: Timeline and Details

A new hospital is planned for Polis Chrysochous, following a meeting at the Presidential Palace under President Nikos Christodoulides. The meeting included representatives from OKYpY, the local Mayor, and members of the Parliamentary Health Committee.

According to the timeline, tenders for the construction of the new hospital are expected to be announced in the second half of 2026, with the project scheduled for completion two years later, by the end of 2028.

The Mayor of Polis Chrysochous, Giotis Papachristofi, expressed his satisfaction with the project's progress, emphasizing the need for a modern hospital to meet the region's needs. He also mentioned the problems with the existing building facilities.

DISY MP, Charalambos Pazaros, noted that residents of the area feel like second-class citizens and expressed hope that the new hospital will be the beginning of a new structure of projects in the area.

AKEL MP, Valentinos Fakontis, welcomed the decision to create the hospital, stressing the need for a modern hospital in the region.

DIKO MP, Chrysanthos Savvidis, expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic, noting that the visions of the MPs and citizens of Paphos and Polis Chrysochous are also his own.

EDEK MP, Ilias Myrianthous, expressed the satisfaction of the members of the Health Committee and stated that the new hospital will include a hemodialysis unit, an obstetrics clinic, a pediatric clinic, and a trauma rehabilitation unit.
