New 'Green School' in Heraklion, Crete with €34 million

The Region of Crete announced the creation of a new 'Green School' of European Education in Heraklion, with funding of €34 million from the 'Crete' 2021-2027 program and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The Regional Governor of Crete, Stavros Arnaoutakis, signed the invitation for the construction of the school complex, which will accommodate 1,302 users annually. The school will follow the principles of environmental sustainability and will be accessible to people with disabilities (PWD).

The project, entitled 'Green School of European Education in Voutes, Heraklion', includes the creation of new building facilities, according to a study resulting from an Architectural Competition.
