Nikos Lygeros in occupied Cyprus: Assuming role of "protecting" frescoes?

Nikos Lygeros, who calls himself the "smartest Greek," posted a photo on X from occupied Cyprus, where he appears to be touching a fresco in a church. In his post, he referred to a role he assumed to protect the frescoes until liberation.
Questions arise as to who assigned him this role and what exactly he can do to protect the frescoes, beyond taking photos.
In the past, Nikos Lygeros had urged refugees to appeal en masse to the ECHR, contributing to the recognition of the Compensation Committee.
