Crossings: Data Update Causes Delays at Checkpoints

Competent sources told CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY that the policy for crossing through the checkpoints remains the same. Any delays are due to the upgrade of systems and the updating of data of Turkish Cypriots and their family members.

The Population Archive system, where crossings are registered, has been upgraded. As part of the upgrade, data is being updated, and where incomplete data or errors are found, additional information is requested. This process will be done once only.

Responsibility for the checkpoints has now passed to the Police.
