OKYPY Takes Measures for Makarios Hospital Works After Reactions

Following reactions from the Parents' Association of Children of the Pediatric Oncology Clinic of Makarios Hospital and Mikroi Heroes, OKYPY has taken measures to limit the impact of the renovation works. The works will be carried out at specific times to reduce noise.

OKYPY's Press Officer, Charalambos Charilaou, stated that the reactions are justified due to the works above the Pediatric Oncology Department. He also mentioned minor water leaks during demolition, which were immediately addressed with the presence of a plumber.

In addition, OKYPY announced that heavy works will be carried out after 8:00 a.m. and will be interrupted between 13:00 and 14:00, while no disturbing works will be carried out on weekends. Central water filters have also been installed preventively.

The Parents' Association had expressed concerns about noise pollution, falling soil, water leaks and water supply interruptions. Mikroi Heroes sent a letter to the Ministry of Health requesting the assurance of safety and hygiene conditions.

OKYPY has scheduled additional weekly meetings and daily supervision of the works.
