Omodos: Village Unrecognizable After Fire – Vineyards Searched For

Flames destroyed everything in mountainous Limassol. Houses and fields turned to ash, with owners struggling to recognize their properties. An Alpha TV camera was in Omodos, where the flames stopped just before the village center.

Mr. Christakis, a resident of a nearby village with property in Omodos, visited the area with his property titles in hand but could not recognize his land. The scene was tragic, with burned areas and dead animals.

"There are two vineyards. I don't recognize them, the land has become one. It had young vines in it, only the stumps remained. The dirt road remained. I stopped. Where is my land, where is it, it is all black," said Mr. Christakis.
