OSAK Calls for Change in Pharmacy Hours Due to Hospital Discharges

The Cyprus Patients' Associations Federation (OSAK) is calling for a change in the operating hours of private pharmacies, particularly the abolition of the midday break. OSAK emphasizes that many patients are discharged from hospitals during midday hours when pharmacies are closed, causing inconvenience.
OSAK also requests the expansion of the system of daytime and nighttime pharmacies, with an increase in the number of participating pharmacies and an extension of the hours of pharmacists' presence in their pharmacies.
OSAK's positions were presented to the Pancyprian Pharmaceutical Association (PFS) in November 2024. The PFS previously rejected proposals from the Minister of Health to change the schedule.
OSAK states that it is open to dialogue to resolve the issue.
