When Garages Become Storage Spaces: What are the Rules?

The lack of parking spaces in urban centers has led to disputes. Many garage owners use them as storage spaces, parking their vehicles in front of them, causing tension.

• The owner can prohibit others from parking in front of his garage only if he uses it for parking vehicles.
• If the garage has been converted into a warehouse, there is no parking ban.
• The Traffic Code prohibits parking in front of the entrance-exit of a parking space only if access is blocked.
• The fine for illegal parking in front of a garage is 80 euros.
