Paphos: Urgent Need for Motorcycle Paramedic Service

The population increase in Paphos, due to tourism, has highlighted the need for the creation of a Rapid Response Motorcycle Paramedic Team under the Ambulance Service. City officials emphasize that the initiative will contribute to immediate medical response in emergency situations.

Recent incidents have highlighted the difficulties in ambulance access due to increased traffic and road regulations. The issue was raised in the Paphos Municipal Council in July 2024, followed by letters to the Minister of Health and the Head of the Ambulance Service.

Paphos Municipal Councilor, Antonis Christodoulou, emphasized the benefits of such a team, such as immediate medical intervention and improving Paphos' image as a tourist destination. He also referred to the Rapid Response Motorcycle Paramedic network, which has proven its value in major cities and tourist centers.
