Paphos: Fires Under Control in Souskiou-Fasoula Area (Map)

Fires that broke out in the Paphos district, near the communities of Souskiou and Fasoula, have been brought under control. According to the Fire Service, the three outbreaks occurred almost simultaneously and in close proximity to each other, causing concern.
A map published by the Fire Service shows the locations of the fires. Ground and air forces were mobilized to extinguish the fires, including five fire trucks, one vehicle from the Department of Forests, one earthmover, and a ground crew. Four aircraft were also deployed.
Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis stated that personnel were recalled to cover the city. The fires, which broke out in three different locations on the side of the road, were 200 meters apart.
The flames burned 2.5 hectares of dry grass and wild vegetation. Mr. Kettis appealed to citizens to be vigilant and immediately inform the authorities if they detect smoke, fire, or anything suspicious.
