The Rector of the University of Cyprus, Tasos Christofides, stated that the University cannot be accused of not utilizing the Faneromeni building, as it has not yet been handed over.

Speaking on 'Proino Dromologio,' Mr. Christofides emphasized that the building has not been handed over to the University of Cyprus and that, according to the current legislative framework, it requires seismic upgrading, which has not been carried out.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the building needs upgrading and is not sufficient to house the Department of Architecture. The Rector appealed to the Ministry of Finance to approve the funding.

The Mayor of Nicosia, Charalambos Prountzos, also speaking on TRITO, emphasized that the Faneromeni area is important for the recovery of the city center. He stated that the Municipality of Nicosia is a contracting party to the agreement and that the agreement concerns undergraduate students.

Mr. Brountzos noted that the upgrade cost increased due to the requirements of the School of Architecture and appealed to the Ministry of Finance to approve the funding.
