Over €4 Million to be Allocated for Fire Prevention

The state will allocate over 4 million euros for fire prevention in anticipation of the fire season.

As decided at a meeting of the Minister of Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou, with the Nicosia District Administration and members of the Community Councils, this amount will be allocated for clean-up and the creation of fire zones.

In addition, a fund of one million euros will be allocated for cleaning vegetation in forest adjacent areas. All communities across Cyprus have updated the Polybios Plan, in cooperation with Civil Defense, for coordination in the event of a fire.
