Trial of 5 Greek Cypriots in Occupied Territories Postponed, Remain in Custody

The continuation of the hearing in the case of the five Greek Cypriots being «tried» by a «military court» in the occupied territories on charges of «illegal entry» has been postponed to August 27.

The «court» decided that all five defendants should remain in custody until the next «hearing». The hearing continued today in the occupied territories, with the «prosecuting authority» presenting evidence regarding the entry and exit dates of the third «defendant».

The defense argued that the records concerning the entry of the defendants into the occupied territories from the Strovolia crossing point have been altered. The next «hearing» was scheduled for Wednesday, August 27.

Reportedly, there was an expressed intention to expedite the process with sessions on August 27, 28, and 29.
