Pachyammos: Request to Open Crossing Point in Kokkina

The Pachyammos Community Council has requested President Nikos Christodoulides to open a crossing point in Kokkina. The request was made on the sidelines of the memorial service for those who fell during the battles of Tillyria.
In a memorandum submitted, the Council emphasized the need to open the crossing point, placing the issue as a matter of utmost priority and humanitarian importance. It is noted that the community is experiencing the consequences of geographical, social, and economic isolation due to the non-operation of the crossing point.
The Council also faces water supply problems and is seeking support for drilling. Furthermore, due to vulnerability to forest fires, it requests a satellite early detection system and water tanks.
Finally, cooperation is requested for access to the beach and cemetery, as well as financial support for the completion of a park and monument to those who fell in Tillyria in 1964.
