Pilot Technical Gymnasium Launched in Cyprus

The Minister of Education, Athena Michaelidou, announced the launch of the pilot implementation of the Technical Gymnasium in the Cypriot education system. Ms. Michaelidou emphasized that this move strengthens Technical and Vocational Education.

According to the Minister, the Technical Gymnasium aims to familiarize students early with technical professions and new technologies, providing practical knowledge and skills. "Students will have the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and develop life and training skills that will serve them in the future," she stated.

The Minister of Education highlighted the necessity of this educational policy, due to the low participation rates in Technical and Vocational Education and the skills mismatch.
