Pittokopitis: Reservations about water cuts in Paphos

The President of the Paphos District Self-Government Organisation, Charalambos Pittokopitis, has expressed serious reservations about potential water cuts, arguing that they would create problems without a corresponding benefit.

Mr. Pittokopitis stated that the decision for cuts was taken without consultation with the District Organisations. He suggested alternative ways to save water, such as differentiating water pricing and using water-saving nozzles.

He also stressed the need to inform the public and warned of possible adverse effects on the water network due to the cuts.

A meeting with the District Engineer of the Water Development Department is scheduled to examine practical measures to avoid the cuts.
