Cyprus Population Nears One Million in 2023

The population of Cyprus (De Jure) increased by 17,300 people in 2023, reaching 966,400, compared to 949,100 in 2022, according to data released by the Statistical Service.

Of the total, men numbered 475,600 and women 490,800. The largest age group was 15–44 years old, with 403,400 people, followed by those aged 45–64 with 243,800 and those 65 and over with 171,600.

The most populous sub-group was 35–39 years old with 81,000 people, while those aged 40–44 numbered 77,200. In the 15–44 age group, women numbered 198,800 and men 204,600.
