A weak low pressure system is affecting Cyprus, according to the Department of Meteorology. Today, the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy with possible isolated showers, mainly in the mountains and the eastern half of the island. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible.

The winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, with temporary strengthening on the west and south coasts. The sea will be generally slightly rough to rough. The temperature will rise to around 20 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts, and around 8 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear, with local increased low clouds on the coasts. The winds will be light to moderate. The temperature will drop to around 10 degrees Celsius inland, around 13 degrees Celsius on the coasts, and around 4 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains, where frost may form.

On Wednesday, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the mountains and inland. On Thursday and Friday, the weather will be generally clear, with a gradual rise in temperature.
