Tesla Vehicle Issues: TOM Recommendations for Owners

The Department of Road Transport (TOM) has issued an announcement regarding potential issues with Tesla vehicles, following reports of difficulty opening doors.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has initiated a preliminary investigation into certain Tesla vehicles, specifically regarding malfunctions of the electrically controlled door handles in low voltage conditions. The investigation primarily concerns 2021 Model Y vehicles.
These vehicles have internal manual handles for opening the doors in case of low voltage. Owners are advised to consult the owner's manual for instructions.
Recommendations for Tesla owners in Cyprus:
- Check the manual for the manual opening procedure and inform passengers.
- Check if your vehicle is subject to recall via the official Tesla page or the EU Safety Gate.
- In case of malfunction, do not use the vehicle until it is checked.
