Fire near Larnaca Landfill – Under Control

A fire broke out near a landfill in the community of Klaudia, Larnaca district, burning three decares of land.

According to a statement from the Department of Forests, the fire broke out in the Tremithos riverbed, near the old landfill. The intervention of the fire extinguishing forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under full control around 13:50, having burned three decares with low wild vegetation, reeds and a small number of eucalyptus trees.

4 people from the Department of Forests, 6 people from the Fire Service and 4 people from the Civil Defense participated in the extinguishing operation. The causes of the fire are under investigation.
