Fire near Alambra Forest brought under control

A forest fire broke out today, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in the “Vasilika” area of Idaliou Municipality, in the Nicosia district. The fire started 100 meters from the northern edge of the Alambra State Forest.

According to an announcement by the Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, the fire was brought under full control at 11:55, thanks to the immediate intervention of the fire extinguishing forces.

Ten people from the Department of Forests with 3 fire trucks, as well as 5 people from the Fire Service with 2 fire trucks, participated in the extinguishing operation.

The causes of the fire are under investigation.
